TRAPPED. On Film.
February 23-March 5
Opening Reception: Tuesday February 23, 6-8pm
“Here we are, trapped in the amber of the moment. There is no why” –Kurt Vonnegut
Anda Marcu is a visual artist currently living in London, ON. Marcu is fascinated by the exploration of light and colors, by the unexpected, by the passing of time through light, by the passing of all life through light. Working with film, she also treasures the serendipity of toy cameras and plastic lenses. Revolving around light, the work is rarely staged. It usually happens when the unintentional becomes intentional. Marcu finds her subjects mostly by looking out the window, any time she finds the surrounding mirroring her inner vision.
TRAPPED.On Film. is about the intimate and delicate relationship light and film share. It is about freezing a moment in time, about the constant crave for fresh sensing, pausing, and discovery. Jumping from one subject or idea to the other, binding bits and pieces together, TRAPPED. On Film. aims to find a way of capturing the moment and saving it for later.
