Organic Figures and Delusions
By Kristyn Watterworth
February 23 - March 6, 2010
Opening night reception Tuesday February 23, 7-9pm
In this series I am working with the battle between our animal desires and our aspirations to follow social convention. It is in our societal programming to want certain things to follow a code, but in our nature to follow our hearts. The paintings come out of true emotion; passion, love, happiness, eroticism, desire and heartbreak.
I watch the paintings emerge before me while I work. I use the intensity of my feelings as the catalyst between the paint and canvas. Subtle figures and references to nature appear as subject matter.
