Drawing Basics I: Essential Drawing Elements for Teens Ages 14-18

Drawing is an essential component in all visual arts. This program is designed for students who wish to improve their drawing skills. Using graphite (and other drawing materials), fundamental techniques such as proportion, shape, perspective, shading, and value will be explored through observing still-life objects. Students will obtain knowledge of common drawing materials, build core skills, and explore drawing as a medium. This course is also ideal for students who are working on advancing their portfolio work.
